General Motors finally revealed today their new small model, the Opel Adam (2013), which will be marketed as the Vauxhall Adam in the UK. The Opel Adam measures 3.70 meters in length and 1.72 meters width without the side mirrors. It comes in a three-door configuration and it's developed mainly for urban areas. At launch, Opel will sell the Adam with a choice between three petrol engines (1.2 l 51kW/70 hp, 1.4 l 64 kW/87 hp and 1.4 l 74/100 hp) and a five-speed manual gearbox. All versions of the Opel Adam are going to be available with ecoFLEX technology and a Start/Stop function. Opel also announced they're going to launch a performance version of the Adam, which will be powered by a turbocharged gasoline engine with direct injection. This version of the Adam is going to have a 6-speed manual gearbox. When developing the Adam, Opel / Vauxhall aimed to offer as much liberty as possible for customizing the appearance of the car. The Adam will be available in three versions: JAM, for unconventional customers, GLAM, which is a more elegant version and SLAM, for more energetic people. The new Opel Adam (2013) comes equipped with LED DRLs, and a new infotainment system, which is compatible with both Apple products and Android smartphones. This new system makes the smartphone content available in the cabin. This includes GPS and Internet enabled Apps. Opel Adam's infotainment system comes with a 7-inch high-resolution and full-color touch screen, Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

The new Adam will be offered in three different, highly individualized trim moods or worlds: Jam, Glam and Slam. All three designs are offered with a wide choice of exterior colors, three roof colors, different interior colors, decors, various headliners -including an LED lit "starlight" roof trim - and other premium inspired distinctive design elements.

On the exterior, the new Adam features a wide front grille, a new wing-shaped chrome bar with the embossed Opel emblem, and headlamps with wing-shaped daytime running lights (DRL) typical of Opel. As a first for a model in the A-segment, both the headlamps and the taillights are available with state-of-the art energy-saving LED technology.

Opel is also offering a wide choice of wheels, measuring from 15" to 18", with the 17" and the 18" being offered with a more responsive Sports chassis.
