Pagani Zonda Replica is Based on a Porsche and has a Real Mercedes-Benz V12 Engine with 600-Ponnies

It may look like a Pagani (to the untrained eye, at least), and according to the eBay seller, sound like one too, but what you see in these images is a replica of the famed Italian supercar.

The builder of the Pagani Zonda clone says the car is based on a Porsche chassis (we are not told which one) and just like the original model, it is powered by a Mercedes-Benz V12 engine, which in this case, is said to deliver 600-horses towards the rear axle via a Porsche-sourced 6-speed manual transmission.

Video: Chris Harris Reviews the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake

First, there was the CLS: a car with four doors and four seats that claimed its distinctive styling and rakish glasshouse made it a four-door coupe and not a regular saloon.

Well, no matter what they called it, the CLS brought Mercedes-Benz a nice profit thanks to its sales success and actually launched a brand-new niche, forcing Audi and BMW to follow suit with the A7 Sportback and the Gran Coupe respectively.

Vilner Promises "5-Star Luxury" for Four Passengers in New Mercedes-Benz GL SUV Tune

One of the main reasons why Mercedes-Benz developed the GL-Class was to offer buyers a bigger alternative to the closely related ML-Class SUV with additional space to accommodate seven passengers in three rows of seats.

However, one particular owner of the previous generation GL-Class had no need for the extra seats and was looking for a way to up the luxury ante for the rear passengers. Here is where Bulgarian design studio Vilner stepped in.

New Mercedes-Benz CLA Compact Four-Door Coupe Caught Undisguised During Photo Shoot!

For the past year or so, spy photographers have been following Mercedes-Benz engineers all over the world to capture a glimpse of the brand's upcoming CLA premium compact sedan, or as the Germans are likely to describe the car in their press material, a four-door coupe.

Naturally, the brand with the shining star has always been careful to keep the prototype and pre-production models of the CLA well hidden under foil wraps and plenty of plastic cladding.

However, with the official presentation of the CLA coming closer every day, at some point, Mercedes-Benz had to remove the camo to complete the necessary photo and video shoots that always take place in remote locations. Little did they know that when they did, someone would be out there to capture the production car in its…birthday suit.

That someone was Bernhard Kohlmeier who was vacationing with his family in Iceland at the Northern Light Inn situated within walking distance of the famed Blue Lagoon (more on Bernhard's experience and first thoughts on the car's looks after the jump).

Excuse Me While I Drift Right By You Around the Corner

We have seen many videos of Russian drivers trying to overtake motorists at stoplights, but most of those filmed attempts that make it on the internet for our amusement end up in tears and shattered metals.

Not this one, though, as the driver of the black Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG (that's the 6.3-liter V8-powered model with 451 horses and rear-wheel drive) made a sweet pass with a perfectly executed drift without any incident whatsoever.

Check out the short video clip for yourself right past the break.

Thanks for the tip Vassia P.!

SCP Lightens Up Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon with Cosmetic Tune

Of all the Mercedes-Benz models, the one you least expect to tap the interest of tuners is the massively spacious E-Class T-Modell, also known as Estate and Wagon in other markets.

Yet it is this model, and in particular, the previous generation of the E-Class Wagon W211 built from 2002 to 2009, that has fallen into the hands of German aftermarket specialist, Schulz Car Professional or SCP for short.

Scoop: New Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell Sheds its Camo and Gets Caught By Our Lens

When Mercedes-Benz displayed the SLS AMG E-Cell concept at last year’s Detroit Motor Show, company boss Dr. Dieter Zetsche boldly stated that it is “the most technically advanced sports car in the 125-year history of the automobile” and confirmed that a production version was on its way.

This year, the three-pointed star announced that the SLS AMG E-Cell would hit the market in 2013. While 2012 still has some way to go (assuming the Mayas were wrong and the world doesn’t end…), the production version has been caught completely undisguised.

U Spy: What's Mercedes-Benz Doing with an A-Class Prototype in Prague?

Within the next couple of weeks - if not days, Mercedes-Benz will begin European deliveries of the spanking-new A-Class compact hatchback.

The premium model has already racked up more than 40,000 orders in Europe alone and as a result, Mercedes-Benz turned to Valmet Automotive, which it hired to build an additional 100,000 units or so from 2013 through 2016 to cover the demand.

Given that the regular A-Class has already been presented, we were somewhat surprised to see that CarScoop reader Radek V. spotted a heavily camouflaged prototype of the VW Golf-sized model earlier today on the picturesque streets of the Czech Republic's capital city of Prague.

Lewis' story started on Friday, August 3, when the 25-year old junior at Berkeley College was pulled over for a traffic violation while driving his luxury Mercedes-Benz CL coupe in New York City.

Formula 1: Belgian Grand Prix Race Report

After the summer break, the Formula 1 season resumed this weekend. The Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium is one of the most interesting tracks in the calendar, with its famous Eau Rouge corner shorting out the boys from the men.

Two of the title contesters, however, never had the chance to go so far in Sunday’s race. In fact, they retired at the very first corner. Lewis Hamilton’s McLaren and Romain Grosjean’s Lotus collided, and the later hit the championship points’ leader, Fernando Alonso, marking the Ferrari driver's first retirement this year.
