Honda Presents New Limited Edition Civic Ti with Cosmetic Upgrades in the UK


A little over a year after releasing a limited run of the previous generation Civic Ti in Britain, Honda has applied the "Ti" treatment to the new iteration of its five-door compact hatchback.

Said to be inspired by Honda's British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) Civic, the Ti is based on the 1.8-liter i-VTEC SE petrol model adding cosmetic enhancements such as 17-inch "Le Mans" alloy rims and color-coded wheel arches on the outside and leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearknob, plus Bluetooth connectivity on the inside, but no chassis or engine modifications.

Mazda Tuner BBR Announces “Super 180” Performance Upgrade for Third-Gen MX-5


Brodie Britain Racing, or BBR as it is commonly known, is a UK-based tuning company that specializes on Mazda models. Some of you may recall the 150HP turbocharged Mk1 (NA) MX-5/Miata, among them a special edition launched in celebration of the 787B winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1991.

More than two decades after the last rotary win in La Sarthe, the MX-5 is currently in its third generation (NC) and BBR is still producing tuning packages for the world’s best-selling two-seater car in history.

BBR has now announced a new, normally aspirated package for the third generation MX-5, which was produced from 2005 onwards.

Opel's brother-in-arms, Vauxhall, is exhibiting three examples of its new Adam premium sub-compact, each prepared by a different artist.

Volkswagen Adds Two New Entry Level Powertrains to Beetle Range in the UK


The ever-expanding lineup of the Volkswagen Beetle gains two more engine derivatives in Britain.

This time, the German carmaker has added a 1.2-litre TSI petrol delivering 104HP / 105 PS connected to a six-speed manual gearbox (joining the DSG version of the same powerplant) and the 1.6-litre TDI diesel 104HP / 105 PS with BlueMotion Technology, which is offered with either a five-speed manual or seven-speed DSG transmissions.

New MINI Countryman John Cooper Works Priced in the UK, Plus New Gallery with 55 Photos


The Mini family is expanding with the first John Cooper Works (JCW) performance model to come with the firm's ALL4 all-wheel drive system, the new John Cooper Works Countryman that goes on sale in Britain with a starting price of £28,595.

The 4,133mm long, 1,789mm wide and 1,549mm tall crossover packs a 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that utilizes direct-injection technology and a twin-scroll turbocharger to produce 215hp (218PS) and 280Nm (207 lb-ft) of peak torque or 300Nm (221 lb-ft) with the overboost function.

2013 Range Rover Mk4 Revealed in More Detail and in 140 New Photos, Diesel-Hybrid Confirmed


The fourth-generation of Land Rover's venerable Range Rover series made its debut today during a special event held at The Royal Ballet School in Richmond, London.

We've already seen it but the British carmaker divulged new details about its flagship SUV including UK pricing and the availability of a diesel-hybrid variant, along with more than 140 images that show the 2013 Range Rover in high resolution detail.

"The new Range Rover preserves the essential, unique character of the vehicle – that special blend of luxury, performance and unmatched all-terrain capability," said John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director.

"However, its clean sheet design and revolutionary lightweight construction have enabled us to transform the experience for luxury vehicle customers, with a step change in comfort, refinement and handling"

The new Range Rover will be available in over 170 markets worldwide, with North American customer deliveries scheduled to start in December 2012.

Fiat Expands Doblo Cargo Van Range with New XL Version in the UK


Fiat's boxy Doblo Cargo van is welcoming a new addition to its range in Britain in the form of the XL model, which follows the Doblo Work Up launched last year.

The new Doblo XL is based on the long wheelbase version adding a higher roof to the mix for a total load volume of 5.0 m3 and a payload of 1,000kg or 2,205 lbs.

Top Gear Live Returns to the UK and the Birmingham NEC in October [w/Video]


We won't be able to watch fresh episodes of the Top Gear UK television show until 2013, but British fans will have the opportunity to see presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May along with The Stig in the flesh at the next Top Gear Live taking place at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC) from 25-28 October, 2012.

The UK event is a follow up to this past June's Top Gear Live show in Durban, South Africa, where a stunt team successfully completed the world's first ever "double loop-the-loop".

Ferrari 458 Italia Spider Tinkered by Kahn Design


Following Kahn Design's tuning proposal for the coupe version of the Ferrari 458 Italia, the British brand has now turned its attention on the Spider model that sports an all-aluminium roof that rolls out from below the flying buttresses.

The World's Fastest Postman Pat Van will Leave You with a Smile


Postman Pat is an old school-style, stop-motion animated children's television series from Britain that first aired on BBC1 in 1981.

The main character of the series is Pat Clifton, a country postal worker who drives a bright red van, and it's this vehicle that inspired the creation of a closed-top kart racer.

Former Lotus CEO Dany Bahar Sues DRB Hicom for Wrongful Termination, Asks for Close to $11 Million


In June, new Lotus owner DRB Hicom fired the British sports car maker’s CEO, Dany Bahar, after placing him under a two-week suspension. The official reason cited for his termination was "the results of an investigation into a complaint made against him by the company’s penultimate holding company, DRB-HICOM Berhad".

Now Businessweek reports that 40-year old Bahar (pictured above with Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda) has filed a claim against both Lotus and its parent company, DRB-Hicom, for wrongful termination of his employment and asks for a US$10.6 million compensation.

Hyundai's Sportier Veloster Turbo with 183HP Priced at £21,995 in the UK


The most potent version of Hyundai's new Veloster 1+2 door coupe that comes equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-liter petrol engine will go on sale in Britain on September 24 priced at £21,995.

In European specification, the Veloster Turbo SE's inline-four delivers an output of 183bhp (186) and a peak torque of 195 lb-ft (265Nm). It is linked to a standard six-speed manual gearbox and allows for a 0-62mph (100km/h) sprint time of 8.4 seconds and a top speed of 133 mph (214km/h).

Subaru UK Slashes Price of Base WRX STI by £6,000, Presents New 335hp Variant


Subaru's British arm is feeling generous these days as the company has just slashed the price of the base WRX STI model by a whopping £6,000 (€7,600 or US$9,500) to £26,995 (€34,200 or US$42,700).

At this price point, the 296bhp (300PS) 2.5-liter turbocharged WRX STI costs £2,000 more than the base trim-level BRZ SE and only £500 more than BRZ Lux edition with a manual gearbox.

Norwich-based firm Trident Performance Vehicles isn't your usual car manufacturer and its new Iceni Grand Tourer is far from being a normal sports car, not only because of its strange looks but mostly due to the company's decision to pack a 6.6-litre turbo-diesel under its hood.

Fiat Launches More Lavishly Equipped 500 Street Edition in the UK


If there's something the Fiat brand knows all too well is that new trim editions can help stir some attention and boost sales.

Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake Priced from £49,360 OTR in the UK


Britain is next in line to learn how much the new CLS Shooting Brake model will cost when Mercedes-Benz's dealers begin accepting orders in mid-September and before deliveries commence in November.

In the UK, the station wagon version of the CLS will be available with three different engine variants including the diesel-powered 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY and 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, and a petrol flagship, the CLS 63 AMG.
